Business Blogging To Grow Your Online Presence
By Carol Farbe | June 14, 2011
Business blogging is used to build up your business. Your business blog can tell readers and potential customers a solution to their problems. This blog was designed to walk businesses on to the online stage. In other words, I show you how to transfer your existing brick and mortar business to an online business. One of the first steps is to have an online presence. You, as a business owner, answer questions. How do you respond to them?
The first step you need to take to have an online presence is to set up a blog or website. A website is stationary and not updated very often. A blog is constantly updated with new information. A blog is like reading a newspaper about your company every time you post. You are including a little bit of yourself in each post but it is directed at solving a problem for your customers.

The second step you need to take is to join the social media avenues. Social media can include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. By participating in these outlets, you develop a relationship with people you would not normally come in contact with. By getting to know you, they are more apt to make a purchase from you. You are establishing the ‘know, like, and trust’ factor that people need to have before making a purchase from you.
The third step you need to take to have an online presence is to write articles. These articles can be submitted to online directories for publishing. At the bottom of an article, the last paragraph is called a ‘resource box.’ This resource box contains links back to your blog or website. You are driving traffic to your site with backlinks. The search engines love backlinks. It helps to boost your Google rating which in turn bumps up your listing when someone is searching for you and your business with keywords.
One of the easiest informational blog posts is a ‘how to’ post like this one. In a how-to post, you are giving information and educating potential customers. In this post, I gave you 3 steps you need to take to have an online presence and to help build your business. What is holding you back from having an online presence?
