To transfer your brick and mortar business online, you need a blog or website. As I’ve said before, a website is static. You make very little changes to a website. You basically put it up there and forget about it. But a blog is completely different. It shows a different aspect of your business. You can tell of advertised specials and give specifics of how that special will help your customers. But what kind of blog should you go with? Read the rest of this entry »

Email Messaging

By Carol Farbe | February 3, 2010

Email messaging is important to your growing business. You can receive orders via email. You can receive questions via email that can be answered in your blog post. That’s a great source of blog ideas. But the amount of time you spend on email can directly affect your business. If you are leaving your email open all day, you will know the moment someone emails you. Of course, you will want to go and read it. That can be a time waster. Blog Post Ideas For Content

By Carol Farbe | January 20, 2010

As you transfer your business online, a blog or website can inform customers about the specifics of your business. On a website, you can showcase your products or packages. On a blog, you can write directly to potential customers. But where do you get your blog ideas?

In one of Joan Stewart’s post on her blog, The Publicity Hound breaks it down into several quick ideas. Sometimes the ideas are right in front of you. Have you checked your email today? Some people check it hourly or just keep it open all day long. But that is time consuming. Reading every email that comes in immediately can be a time waster. Instead, check your email daily and respond to it. Many of us receive questions through our email. You can respond to that email directly or you can answer that question in one of your blog post.

You can take that question and answer, expand on it, then post it in your newsletter as an article within your industry. You can fill up a newsletter with questions your customers have asked. Is there one question that customers ask repeatedly? That tells you there is interest in that topic. Where do you get your blog post ideas from?
